Areas of Responsibility:

  • Works closely with S&M Manager to achieve both personal revenue goals (by working towards an agreed target) and the budgeted goals of the resort
  • Proactively manages a pre-determined number of key accounts, key prospects and other active accounts to ensure maximum yield in rooms and banqueting revenue in line with budgetary objectives
  • Proactively sources and prospects new accounts (min. 10 per month) and properly follows the sales process through to convert them into ‘producing’ accounts
  • Maintains valid call objectives and relevant action plans for each key prospect and ensures all follow up is executed in a timely manner
  • Attends any trade fairs as a representative of Kurumba, ensuring that the quality image of the organisation is portrayed, and that every opportunity is taken to promote the Property.
  • Prepares and completes a sales report in a timely manner after attendance of trade shows or missions
  • Takes personal responsibility for understanding the Marketing plan and the required budgetary guidelines of the resort, to enable empowered decisions in all rate negotiations
  • Participates in the annual Marketing Planning process under the direction of General Manager, and takes responsibility in conjunction with the S&M Manager for the compilation of the competitor rate and product information and pricing analysis
  • Communicates client requirements in a timely and accurate manner to all internal departments as required, ensuring delivery of superior guest service
  • Re-negotiates corporate rate agreements within budgetary guidelines for all corporate accounts within agreed time frames in required
  • Ensures accurate follow up and communication internally to reservations, the Event Coordinator and the accounting departments, and confirmation to client
  • Ensures resort rates sheets are accurate at all times
